Might have found the Ivy Bridge Z77 chipset motherboard I will buy one day post-Haswell when prices drop: the Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt. As it has to be good for six to seven years, I mostly have been looking for durability: top quality components, nearly the lowest idle power consumption of any Z77 motherboard, nearly the best signal to noise ratio for its audio, and of course it has Thunderbolt which surely is the next-gen USB of the future. Currently a fairly disgusting $170 in Canada though, a good $70 more expensive than the non-Thunderbolt edition, so I'll be waiting till it drops to maybe $130 or lower before pulling the trigger. My old H67 chipset motherboard isn't that much slower for the time being of course (https://plus.google.com/109885711759115445224/posts/GjiGyNsnDUB).
